First views of the supercell to
our west. Unfortunately the tornado producer had already moved on into
Minnesota and we had largely missed the show.

| Pretty supercell, but not a
tornado producer. |

Wall cloud and precip core under
the base to the west off of Interstate 29.
| Funnel look alike under the
supercell to our north. |
| RFD notch as the storm tries one
more time. Nearing Pipestone, MN now. |
| Incredible sky now near
Pipestone, Minnesota! |
| Beautiful sky! |
| Chase over however, as the base
of the storm rapidly moves NE away from us and darkness sets in.
Another all night drive back to Illinois. This was the only time I ever
hallucinated while driving at night. I had left Champaign at 3 AM on
the 16th, to drive to South Dakota with the other three, before
returning to Champaign at 7 am on the 17th. Two sunrises with no sleep
in between, never again. |
